Patients often require hospitalisation for the treatment of dengue fever.

What is dengue insurance cover?

Dengue insurance cover is a special insurance plan that exclusively offers coverage for dengue fever in Singapore. The primary coverage offered by the plan is a S$500 benefit that gets paid out upon diagnosis of dengue fever. This plan also pays you a daily cash allowance of S$200 a day for up to a certain number of days as decided by the insurer (usually around 5 days). You can use this payout to afford any medical expenses you face for the treatment of dengue.

The dengue insurance cover also generally gives a death benefit payout for those who pass away due to dengue fever within a certain time period of being infected with the disease. This payout is made to the nominee and is generally around S$20,000.

This is a term plan that is valid for 3 months. Note that the plan only covers a claim that rises as a direct result of dengue fever. Claims for any other condition will not be considered.

How much does dengue insurance cost?

Being a microinsurance plan, dengue insurance is quite affordable. A standard 3-month term plan costs just S$5. Now you can stay covered against this infectious disease at an affordable price.
